Arbor Day Celebration 2026: A Day Rooted in Community

Last Updated 4/23/2026

The City of Statesville came together in a big way to celebrate the 2026 Arbor Day Celebration, and what a beautiful day it was! With sunshine overhead and a shared appreciation for nature, families, friends, and neighbors gathered at the Statesville Park & Soccer Complex to honor the importance of trees and sustainability in our community.

This year’s celebration highlighted Statesville’s continued commitment as a Tree City USA, while creating meaningful opportunities for residents of all ages to connect, learn, and have fun.

From the start of the day, energy was high as participants laced up their sneakers for the FREE Fun Run, followed by a relaxing and refreshing drop-in yoga session held right on the grounds. Both activities offered a great way to enjoy the outdoors while focusing on health and wellness.

Throughout the event, attendees enjoyed a wide variety of interactive experiences. The Touch-A-Truck area was a huge hit, giving kids (and adults!) the chance to explore City vehicles up close. Families spent time bouncing and playing in the kids’ activity areas, while others gathered to watch tree climbing demonstrations and learn more about proper tree care from knowledgeable professionals.

One of the most anticipated moments of the day was the free tree sapling giveaway, where community members were able to take home a tree and play a part in growing a greener Statesville. Environmental and sustainability booths also provided valuable information on how small actions can make a big impact.

Of course, no celebration is complete without great food, and our lineup of local food trucks kept everyone fueled and smiling throughout the afternoon.

Most importantly, Arbor Day once again proved to be a celebration of community connection. Seeing so many people come together to enjoy our parks, support local initiatives, and learn about environmental stewardship is what makes events like this so special.

Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, and helped make this event a success. We also extend our appreciation to our staff, partners, and volunteers who worked hard to bring this day to life. Be sure to check out the photo gallery from the event - we loved capturing so many great moments!

🌿 We look forward to continuing to grow, celebrate, and care for our community - one tree at a time.
