Iredell Senior Games Kicks Off with Record-Breaking Opening Day!

The 2026 Iredell Senior Games are officially underway - and what a start it has been! This year’s Opening Day was nothing short of incredible, setting the tone for what is shaping up to be our largest Senior Games yet.

We kicked things off with our Opening Ceremony Breakfast at the Statesville Recreation Center, where participants gathered to enjoy great food, reconnect with friends, and celebrate the beginning of another exciting season. The energy in the room was undeniable, and with our largest opening ceremony crowd ever, it was clear that the Senior Games community continues to grow stronger each year.

Following breakfast, the competition began with Basketball Shooting and Table Tennis, and participants came ready to play! From focused shots on the basketball court to fast-paced rallies at the table tennis tables, the morning was filled with friendly competition, encouragement, and plenty of smiles.

One of the most exciting milestones? Even before registration has officially closed, we are on track for our largest Iredell Senior Games participation in history. This incredible growth speaks to the spirit of our community - one that values health, wellness, connection, and fun at every age.
