The Arbor Day Celebration is a community event originally developed as a way for the City of Statesville to be designated as a Tree City USA, by the National Arbor Day Foundation. The Tree City USA is a program designed to help communities maintain and grow their tree cover. As part of the City of Statesville Arbor Day Celebration event, we giveaway free tree saplings in hopes that they will be planted around the community to maintain the beautification of our great City. Along with free tree saplings, event participants also receive literature and information on how to properly care and maintain their trees as they grow. In 2022, The City of Statesville commemorated 30 years as being recognized as a Tree City USA.

The Arbor Day Celebration event was also created and designed to celebrate the beautiful City of Statesville, bring the community together, educate children and the community about the importance of protecting our environment, and to highlight one of our most popular parks and greenways.

Get ready for a day filled with fun and green initiatives! Here's what you can expect:

๐Ÿป Smokey Bear: One of the highlights of this yearโ€™s event is the Tree City USA Award Presentation by the North Carolina Forestry Service. If he hasnโ€™t been pulled away to assist with wildfire prevention efforts, Smokey Bear will also be in attendance to help celebrate and remind everyone of the importance of forest conservation.

๐ŸŒฑ Tree Giveaways: Help us maintain and grow our city's tree cover by picking up a free tree sapling to plant in your community.

๐ŸŽ‰ Celebrate with Us: The Arbor Day Celebration isn't just about trees; it's about community, education, and appreciation for our environment. Let's come together to celebrate the beauty of Statesville and the importance of preserving it for future generations.

The Arbor Day Celebration has been a cornerstone event for the city, highlighting the significance of tree conservation, environmental stewardship, and community unity. In 2022, Statesville marked its 30th year as a Tree City USA, and the tradition continues with efforts to educate and inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.

Don't miss out on this exciting event where we celebrate our city's greenery, come together as a community, and have a great time! See you there! ๐ŸŒณ
