Statesville Recreation & Economic Vitality Announces Opening of New Pickleball Courts at MLK Jr. Park
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the new pickleball courts at Martin Luther King Jr. Park (911 Lakewood Dr)! It was a fantastic afternoon filled with community spirit, excitement, and of course - plenty of pickleball.
We were proud to officially celebrate this new recreational amenity with residents, players, community leaders, and supporters who came out to mark the occasion. Following the ribbon cutting, the courts were buzzing with open play as participants of all skill levels enjoyed friendly competition on the brand-new courts.
The addition of these pickleball courts represents more than just lines on pavement - it’s another step forward in expanding recreation opportunities in Statesville. As one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, pickleball offers a fun, social, and active way for people of all ages to connect and stay healthy. Seeing the courts immediately filled with energy and enthusiasm confirmed just how excited our community is about this new space.
If you weren’t able to attend the ribbon cutting, we invite you to stop by MLK Jr. Park and check out the courts for yourself. Whether you’re an experienced player or brand new to the game, there’s a place for you on the court.
