🚧 Pardon Our Mess - Exciting Improvements Are Underway! 🚧

Big improvements are coming to our Climbing Wall and lobby area at the Statesville Recreation Center (The Rec)!

Construction has begun on a new wall enclosure to create a more controlled environment for our climbers and spectators. This enclosure will also incorporate a new scan-in system for our members who utilize group fitness classes and the fitness room.

⛔ Temporary Closure

For everyone’s safety, the Climbing Wall will be closed during construction and will remain fully closed through at least the end of May 2026.

Children 13 & under are FREE with an annual family membership!

Annual fitness memberships include access to the Recreation Center (for members 14 & older), Statesville Leisure Pool, climb time, basketball courts and supervised childcare. Group fitness classes are included in monthly and annual fitness memberships.

Childcare Services

The Statesville Recreation Center offers an indoor children's play area for parents to drop off their children ages 6 months - 10 years old. Parents must remain on site while they use the facility.

**NOTE regarding Morning Sessions Monday - Friday**:

Childcare will now be offered in two separate sessions each morning on a first-come, first-served basis. Each session will have 10 available spots for children.
If additional staff members are available, we may allow up to 15 children.
Important Note: Childcare will be closed from 9:30am – 10:00am, and no staff will be present during this time. This means that if your child is checked in during Session 1 (for example at 9:00am), they must be signed out by 9:30am.
You are welcome to check them back in for Session 2 beginning at 10:00am as long as space is available.
Evening hours and Saturday hours will remain the same.

PRICING: Childcare is included in annual memberships.

For those that pay daily or monthly cost is as follows:

$5 for first child / $3 for each additional child

Important Policy Updates & Reminders:

Families may utilize Childcare for up to 1.5 hours per day during summer hours.

Sign-in and sign-out are required for each use of Childcare.

For safety reasons, a maximum of 10 children are allowed in the room at any one time.

Food and drinks are not permitted in the Childcare room, in accordance with our safety policies.

If your child requires food or drink, you are welcome to bring them into the lobby. Time spent outside the Childcare room will not count against your 1.5-hour limit.

We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or broken personal items brought from home.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we implement these changes to create a safer and more efficient environment for everyone.
