Rental requests that require a Special Event Application include:

• Any events open to the general public
• Athletic events
• Large group events

Special Event Permit Policies & Procedures:

For a smooth application process, please familiarize yourself with the following important policies and procedures:

Filing of an Application:

• A nonrefundable application fee of $25 is required.
• Applications must be submitted to the Administrative Office no less than 30 days before the proposed event date.
• Submissions less than 30 days (but not less than 14 days) before the event may be considered but will incur a $25 nonrefundable late fee.
• Applications submitted less than 14 days before the event date will not be approved.

Liability Insurance:

• Upon contingent approval of your application, obtaining liability insurance with $1,000,000 coverage listing the City of Statesville as co-insured is mandatory.

Event Layout:

• A detailed event layout must be provided, showcasing the placement of vendors, stages, restrooms, etc.

Security Deposit:

• A $100 security deposit is required for all special events. This deposit is refundable, provided there is no damage to city property and the site is left clean.

Important: Do not advertise your event until you have received permit approval.
